Although for the previous two weeks I have not been consistently running and my timing is really bad, I found out about an amazing 5K and couldn’t resist on the opportunity. The Hot Chocolate Run got bumped into second place. My first 5K is now the Anything is Possible 5K walk/run that will be held throughout several cities in the U.S. on November 6th at 1:50 a.m. Yes, you read the time right!
Now why would I want to run at such an odd time when I could be sleeping or dancing the night away? Daylight Saving Time ends of course! Which means since we’re turning the clock back an hour at 2 a.m. I have the opportunity to finish my 5K prior to starting it and achieving my best ever personal record! :)
Even though I may not come out with the best time on this run and I imagine I will be doing more walking than running, one good thing is it will help me prepare for the Hot Chocolate Run in DC on December 3rd.
We are also supporting our troops with this run since a percentage of the proceeds goes to Hope For the Warriors, national non-profit organization which helps our wounded service members and their families.
I got 11 days, so what?! I just plan on having fun on this run! I am so excited and so NERVOUS! I can’t wait, it’s going to be awesome!
What do you remember the most about your first 5K?
